Obituries

Charred and Dangerous will be best remembered as a 3 man, sketch comedy outfit that pushed the boundaries of “Clown Noir” to its limits. Their dark, brooding, abrasive, salty take on the universe won them no friends and many enemies.

They leave behind their forthcoming shows.

Rob Hamer RIP

Rob (O.B.E.se) will be best remembered for this obituary, in life he was full of it (life that is), his passing was expected and although described as a complete loner his many close friends and family will recall his time at university in Manchester as his happiest.

Some of the many awards that Rob received were an Edinburgh Fringe First and a Sunday Times Drama Award for impact and invention, which has now been passed to the driver of the number 3 bus that hit him.

Rob’s ashes are to be added to the Man City stadium pies.

Rob Hamer – Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes. 4th May 1974 – 23rd May 2005

Guy Rushworth RIP

Guy was always the ‘funniest’ member of Charred and Dangerous. His portfolio of acting awards and statuettes can now be viewed at the Mortlake Crematorium. 3rd row from the left. Knock twice.

Being the most ‘hilarious’ ever needed training of course.

Guy honed his chops at Sunderland University only to be refused money to attend a proper bendy drama school the Arts Educational School, in London. Audiences witnessed his more subtle acting skills in roles such as SKY TV’s Tommy Fab, Agamemnon, Billy Flynn, Brick, Benvolio, Bertozzo, Daddy Bear. He was also a soldier of stage with Improper.

In his own words Guy was once quoted saying “I’m just helping out these competition winners as a bet”. He was a jaffa so...

Guy Rushworth – Promised so much but delivered so little. 19th February 1975 – 23rd May, 2005

David Shelley RIP

David’s parting was sudden and unexpected, a bit like his move into acting and comedy at the age of 23 when he gained a place at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Unlike Guy, David was able to take his place at drama school because he had rich parents and was from the South of England.

After graduating David spent time with the Royal Shakespeare Company but his most career defining moment was starring as the suited man pushing a group of dwarves, dressed as raisins, into a London Cab in the Mini–Bix TV advertising campaign – the product has since been re–branded.

But his most career defining moment came just recently when he appeared as the white Jamaican “touch me” man returning from holidays in the Woolwich motgage tracker commercials.

His estate is left to Cheltenham Town Football Club.

David is survived by anyone reading this.

David Shelley – Would stare at himself in any reflectable surface. 18th March 1968 – 23rd May 2005
